Help ACWA develop a model Practice Governance Framework

ACWA Members, please fill out our Practice Governance Readiness Survey by Monday 13 May

ACWA is currently working with colleagues from the Parenting Research Centre (PRC) to develop a model Practice Governance Framework (PGF) that can be adapted for use by our member organisations.

A PGF aims to:

  • Place practice quality at the centre of what an organisation does
  • Stipulate how an organisation is governed
  • Describe the overall approach that an organisation is taking to practice governance
  • Make explicit the fundamental principles, elements, processes and systems that support quality in practice across the whole organisation.

The model framework will be developed based on input from you, as well as the research and evidence on practice governance.

We are inviting all ACWA member organisations to complete a Practice Governance Readiness Survey, which will be used to better understand the needs of organisations and to further inform the development of a model PGF.

This survey has been developed by the Parenting Research Centre to explore approaches to practice governance and perceptions of readiness for practice governance within organisations. The survey includes items relating to the importance of practice governance as well as items that ask about specific approaches to practice governance currently in place within an organisation.

It is recommended that the survey is completed by a single nominated representative from an organisation with knowledge of their organisation’s overall approach to practice governance and quality improvement (i.e., board member, CEO, executive team member, practice leader or team leader).

As the survey is designed to gather information regarding organisational approaches to practice governance, survey items should be completed from the point of view of the organisation, as opposed to an individual’s view. If it is helpful to gather information from others within the organisation to support the completion of the survey, that is also encouraged.

The survey should take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. Your responses to this survey will be anonymous and no individual responses will be shared. For further information or to take part, please click on the following link: Practice Governance Readiness Survey

The closing date for the survey is Monday 13 May 2024.

If you would like to discuss the survey further, please don’t hesitate to contact
