Upcoming ACWA OOHC Recommissioning Consultations

Tuesday, March 21, 2017

ACWA will be hosting two member consultation sessions on Thursday, March 30 to seek feedback from agencies on the recommissioning of out-of-home care services in the wake of the release of the Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) Request for Tender and Single Invited Proposals (SIPs) to existing contracted foster care agencies.

The session for foster care service providers will be held from 11:45-1:15pm, followed by a second session for residential out-of-home care services from 1:45-3:15pm. Further information will be circulated closer to time.

In the meantime, FACS is holding a full-day industry briefing on March 29 to provide shortlisted applicants from the ITC Expression of Interest (EOI) stage and FACS funded foster care services with an overview of the new program requirements, costing model, and a guide to the Requests for Tender and SIP application processes.

By way of background, Minister for Family and Community Services Brad Hazzard announced in May 2016 that residential out-of-home care services would be subject to a full tender process while foster care services would be subject to a re-negotiation. These processes include the implementation of new therapeutic care requirements and the introduction of outcomes based contracting and performance measures.
